The hall was the community hub for the local miners and it was used for almost everything, socialising, library, welfare, clinics and much more, Until the mine closed in 1982 it was then used as a centre for the minors to sign on as unemployed. Believed to have once been a temporary hospital & area that practiced witch craft. Full bodied apparitions have been witnessed here by our team. Doors slamming in our faces. Tables are been said to move on their own icy winds are said to come from nowhere and disappear just as fast. Apparitions of a caretaker & many others have also been spotted around the building. HALLOWEEN MONTH

OCTOBER, 2019

30 East Drive - pontefract

SOLD OUT

Saturday 5TH October, 2019

9PM - 9AM

£65 EACH

ghost HUNT & sLEEPOVER

Jean, Joe and their children Phillip and Diane Pritchard moved into 30 East Drive in August 1966. Almost immediately Phillip and his Grandmother witnessed a baffling phenomenon – a fine layer of chalk like dust falling not from the ceiling, but from a level below head height. Pools of water mysteriously appeared. This was the beginning of several years of incredible, inexplicable events; green foam appearing from taps and toilet even after the water was turned off, the tea dispenser being activated, lights being turned off and on, plants leaping out of their pots and landing on the stairs, cupboards shaking violently. Photographs being slashed with a sharp knife and an endless list of levitating and thrown objects – including a solid oak sideboard. Dubbed ‘Mr Nobody’ by the local press in 1968, the family preferred to refer to the poltergeist simply as ‘Fred’, perhaps as a way of normalising ‘It’ as no number of initiatives could persuade the entity to leave the family in peace and house-proud mother Jean refused to be terrorised out of her house by an entity. Exorcism’s were met with indignation; walls would seep holy water, faces were slapped, people were shoved down the stairs. Ordinarily poltergeists aren’t known for causing grievous bodily harm, and although Fred caused a few bruises and scrapes and lot of heart stopping scares. The activity reached a new climactic height with Diane’s long hair suddenly standing on its end, followed by her being dragged kicking and screaming up the stairs, an event that left her seriously traumatised and with clearly visible finger marks on her throat. Will you #daretojoinus as we investigate who or what haunts this house?

Kielder Castle - Hexham

Saturday 12th October, 2019

9pm - 8am

Ghost Hunt & Sleepover

£55 Each - deposit option available

The darkest place in Britain - Kielder. There have been settlements around Kielder for over 350 thousand years this has been proven by cave art and tools dating back to 7500BC. King Edwin was the first Christian King of Northumbria he tried to convert every person. If the people wouldn’t convert King Edwin ordered his soldiers to wipe them out. 43,000 men woman and child were killed. Bodies lay over a man’s height high around Kielder – whole villages wiped out. A body pit holding 17500 people was found nearby where Edwin and his men tortured these people hacked them to death then slung there remains in to this pit. Eerie figures have said to have been seen rising for the ground which give Kielder one of the oldest ghost sightings in history. Williams Wallis and his men also tore through Kielder at one point.

Kielder Castle itself dates back to 1775 which means this Castle is 244 years old. It was built for the Duke of Northumberland as a hunting lodge his name was Henry Percy. His wife Charlotte is said to roam around the Castle and touch people’s arms, hair and evening kissing people on the cheek. Charlotte was very friendly with a maid called Marie. Who become pregnant to one of Henrys foots man. Henry ordered anyone who becomes pregnant to lose their job. So Charlotte and helped Marie conceal the pregnancy. The plan was when the baby was born it would be sent away. The baby came along but it was still born. Charlotte panicked and ordered Marie to light a fight. Marie went to bed and the baby was placed in the fire, any remaining bones were crushed so when Marie went to clean the fire out the next day she was unaware of what she was cleaning. Another Maid had said to have hurled herself down the well which still stands outside. Her husband had said to have run off with another woman leaving the maid that distraught she took her own life. Edward Ball was the senior grounds man and lived up in the attic so he could keep a watch other the grounds and gardens. He was a horrid man and the entire woman in the Castle hated him. One afternoon he caught 3 of the of his workers laughing in the stables so assaulted them so bad one of them had over 30 stitches. The workers were furious so 11 of them waited until Edward were asleep and smothered him in his bed. He is an angry spirit and has been heard pacing around the Castle, even pushing visitors’ down the stairs and making people feel ill. Other haunting are said to be of a smuggler brewery Jack who was hung on a tree just outside the Castle along with 5 of his associates for selling booze. Also Anthony Green a hunts man who was involved in a shooting accident and said to roam the courtyard.

I've done a couple of investigations with Pitch Black now and would definitely recommend them to anyone wanting an interesting experience. They make you feel comfortable in surroundings you wouldn't usually find yourself in. I'm looking forward to doing more hunts with them.

I stayed at the park hotel in Morecambe last night with the pitch black investigation team. This was my first ever time doing anything like this, I was apprehensive and a bit sceptical but all I can say is what an amazing night. The whole team were fantastic, very welcoming, helpful, informative and well organised. During the investigation we had access to all the equipment and were encouraged to take lead on call outs, Ouija board (which was a real eye opener for me) and all other aspects of the investigation. I would like to thank all the other guests who were in my group, you all played a part in making my experience a memorable one. I'm not going to mention the things I witnessed and experienced (and believe me there was a lot) as I feel the best thing I can say is "book up with this team and see for yourself" as I have came away with a lot to think about. Well done and thank you to the pitch black investigation team, all your hard work and effort paid off (I will definitely see you all again)

We had a brilliant night at East Drive, Pontefract last night. The team were very welcoming and professional. We had a great laugh as well as the serious stuff. We had noises, lights, a bunch of keys swinging on their own for about 10 minutes, a random ball being slung over the banister in slow motion, a heavy propped up mirror tipping over and a grand finale of a child's pushchair, a doll and a ball being slung down the stairs!

It was a fantastic night. Thankyou to Carrie and the team-we'll definitely be booking again
